Emma Roberts appears to have landed her own happy ending. The American actress married her fiancé, Cody John, on Saturday, July 25, in a small ceremony in Idaho. The American Horror Story star wore a Monique Lhuillier gown for the occasion, while her husband chose a brown suit. Family filled the guest list, including her aunt Julia Roberts, who attended alongside her husband, Danny Moder.
Four years, one engagement and a wedding
The couple met in the summer of 2022, introduced by mutual friends, and have been together for four years. They got engaged in 2024, and the 35-year-old announced it herself on social media with a photo of the pair and her engagement ring clearly in shot. Her caption made a joke of the timing: “I’m putting this here before my mom tells everyone.”
That line had history behind it. Roberts is mother to a son, Rhodes, born in December 2020 during her relationship with actor Garrett Hedlund. While she was still keeping the pregnancy private, her own mother posted the news on Instagram before Roberts had the chance to say anything. The two fell out briefly over it.
So who is Cody John?
His name may not mean much to French audiences, but John has been working steadily as an actor. At 36, he has appeared in a run of short films and television series including NCIS, The Rookie, In the Dark and Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
Since getting together, the two have turned up side by side plenty of times, both on each other’s social media accounts and at public events.
