Harish Narne’s work in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing has developed around a practical question: how can emerging technologies be turned into systems that solve real operational problems?

That question has shaped his work across patented technology, system design, applied research, and scholarly publication. It also contributed to Narne receiving a 2025 Global Recognition Award for work that combines technical development with practical application.

The Global Recognition Awards program recognizes individuals for notable achievement, innovation, and professional impact in their respective fields. Its selection process is highly selective, with only about 4% of applicants receiving an award in 2024. Shortlisted candidates are evaluated by a panel of industry experts and judges using the Rasch model, with consideration given to factors including innovation, impact, leadership, and sustainability.

Turning Cybersecurity Research Into Practical Technology

Narne’s work in secure AI systems is reflected in his December 2024 patent, “System and Method for Secure Data Processing Using Generative AI and Machine Learning Algorithms in Cybersecurity Applications.” The invention focuses on securely processing data while applying generative artificial intelligence and machine-learning techniques within cybersecurity environments.

That patent has also drawn interest beyond the research and development stage.

Narne has entered into a partnership with JoonaPay, a financial-management technology company serving businesses across Francophone Africa. JoonaPay brings invoicing, collections, payments, treasury management, and SYSCOHADA-oriented accounting functions together within a single platform for small and medium-sized enterprises and finance teams.

JoonaPay has expressed interest in evaluating Narne’s patented technology for potential use within its platform.

Financial platforms routinely handle sensitive business, transactional, payment, and accounting information, making secure data processing an important part of their technology infrastructure. Narne’s patent focuses on applying generative AI and machine-learning methods to cybersecurity-oriented data processing, which may be relevant to financial technology platforms operating in data-sensitive environments.

The partnership allows Narne to explore how the patented technology could be applied in a commercial financial platform.

Applying AI to Real-Time Cybersecurity

Narne has also developed related technology addressing another major cybersecurity challenge: detecting and responding to threats as they emerge.

A second patent published in December 2024, “Adaptive Threat Detection and Response System Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Data Security in Real-Time Environments,” focuses on the use of AI and machine-learning techniques to identify and respond to security threats as conditions change.

Together, the two patents show how Narne’s work covers both the protection of sensitive information and the ability to respond to changing security conditions in real time.

Designing for Cloud Security and Performance

Narne has also focused on how security and cloud-performance information is presented to the people responsible for monitoring those systems.

In October 2024, he developed design innovations for an “AI Enhanced Cloud Security Computer Dashboard Interface” and an “AI Enhanced Cloud Performance Monitoring Device.”

These designs focus on making cloud security and performance information easier to monitor and interpret.

Security and performance systems generate large amounts of technical information, but that information is only useful if engineers and administrators can understand what is happening and identify where attention may be required.

The cloud-security dashboard design focuses on presenting security-related information, while the cloud-performance monitoring design addresses how system-performance data can be viewed and followed.

Alongside the cybersecurity patents, these designs show another side of Narne’s work: not only developing intelligent backend systems, but also considering how the information those systems generate can be used in practice.

Research Behind the Technical Work

The ideas behind Narne’s inventions are also connected to his academic research.

His research has examined areas including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and emerging computing technologies. Many of the same questions around AI, security, and cloud systems that appear in his patent work are also reflected in his scholarly research.

Narne has presented research through IEEE conferences, including the International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Emerging Communication Technologies (ICEC) and the International Conference on Engineering, Technology & Management (ICETM).

Presenting research in these settings allows technical ideas to be discussed within the broader academic and engineering community while also exposing researchers to new developments across related fields.

The overlap between Narne’s research and patent work shows how those activities have developed together, with research examining technical problems and patent development translating some of those ideas into defined technological approaches.

Recognition for Work Across AI, Security and Cloud Systems

The 2025 Global Recognition Award reflects work across multiple areas rather than a single invention or research project.

Narne’s patents address secure data processing and adaptive threat detection. His design work focuses on cloud-security and cloud-performance monitoring. His academic research examines many of the same technical issues from a scholarly perspective.

The JoonaPay partnership also creates an opportunity to evaluate one of those inventions in a commercial setting.

Taken together, these activities show a consistent focus on developing AI, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies that can move from research into practical computing environments.

The 2025 Global Recognition Award recognizes Narne’s contributions across these areas and the continuing development of his work in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure.
